The complete Frieda River Project represents a nation building opportunity for Papua New Guinea and a transformative sustainable development opportunity for the Sepik region. The Project will help build stronger and more viable communities by establishing necessary public infrastructure, generating skilled employment, and creating business opportunities for local people.In Laos, PanAust owns a 90 per cent interest in Phu Bia Mining Limited with the Government of Laos owning the remaining 10 per cent. Phu Bia Mining owns and operates PanAust’s two award winning operations – Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver, both located in Xaisomboun Province, 120km north of Vientiane.In Chile, PanAust holds a 66 per cent interest in the Inca de Oro Copper-Gold Project through a Chilean incorporated joint venture company, Inca de Oro S. A.The RoleWe are currently recruiting for experienced team members to join us on a Fixed-Term basis to support our Drill Program.We are looking for an experienced Resource Geologist, based at the Frieda River Project Site. Reporting to Senior Geologist, the role will be responsible for supporting exploration and drilling programs by collecting and managing high-quality geological data, guiding field assistants, and assisting in supervising pad crews, while ensuring safety and efficiency.Key Responsibilities include:Drilling SupportAssist with planning and siting of drill holes in consultation with senior geologists.Supervise drill pad preparation and ensure safe and correct alignment of drill holes.In support of the Senior Geologist, liaise daily with drilling contractors to monitor performance and ensure safe and productive operations.Track drilling progress, including metres drilled, core recovery, downhole surveys, and sample intervals.Ensure sampling, core handling, and marking follow strict QA/QC and company protocols.Provide geological support across all drilling programs (resource, exploration, scout, geotechnical, or other drilling as required)Geological WorkCarry out core logging, including lithology, alteration, mineralisation, and structural data.Collect and process surface samples (rock chips, soils, stream sediments) where required.Reconcile logged geology with expected geology and update interpretations accordingly.Supervision and Team SupportSupervise pad crews and field assistants during pad preparation, core handling, sampling, and photography.Provide clear daily instructions and technical guidance to field assistants to ensure tasks are completed safely and to a high standard.In support of the Senior Geologist, liaise daily with drilling contractors to monitor performance and ensure safe and productive operations.All supervisory duties will be conducted in line with the leadership principles outlined in the 'Common PanAust Responsibilities' section of this document.Data and ReportingRecord and validate all geological data in the relevant spreadsheets, databases, and GIS software.Produce accurate and timely daily and weekly geological reports, which will serve as the primary input for theSenior Geologist's and Superintendent's monthly project reports.Assist in preparing geological cross sections, plans, and contributions to 3D geological models.Track drilling progress, including metres drilled, core recovery, and key consumables.Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE)The Geologist is accountable for applying all corporate safety responsibilities to the specific context of all geological and drilling support activities.
