Role DescriptionNimamar Capital Limited (NCL) is seeking an experienced Loan Collection & Recovery Specialist (Consultant) for a 12-month engagement to lead a focused turnaround in its loan recovery portfolio. The consultant will design and execute an accelerated loan recovery strategy for NCL Finance.The role will drive collection efforts through innovative repayment restructuring, proactive engagement with borrowers and employers, and coaching of NCL’s internal credit and collections team. The position is based in Port Moresby, with regular travel to Lihir to support on-the-ground operations and customer engagement.The consultant will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Finance Manager and Loan Recovery Officers to achieve measurable improvements in arrears reduction and cash flow performance.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business, or related discipline (postgraduate or professional certification preferred).Minimum 5 years’ experience in loan recovery, credit risk, or collections management within banking, microfinance, or financial institutions.Demonstrated success in designing and executing collection strategies that significantly reduce non-performing loans.Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, including negotiation with clients, employers, and internal teams.Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and deliver results under minimal supervision.Experience mentoring teams and transferring technical skills in collection practices.
