Job Description

Job Purpose Develop, implement & is accountable for Company Technical / Process Safety Requirements. Review and provide inputs to Scope of work, specifications, datasheets and other documents related to Process Safety in Projects and In-house Engineering activities. Ensure Process Safety / HSE Standards and applicable competencies are met and that Process Safety awareness, behaviors and culture are improving. Act as the Process Safety Subject Matter Expert (SME) with special focus on area of responsibilities of Process Safety (Technical). Job Responsibilities Prepare scope of work for safety studies (such as HAZID, Bowtie analysis, HAZOP, SIL, quantitative risk assessment (QRA), safety case etc.) for operating assets and perform Technical bid evaluation of proposals received from third party consultants for safety studies. Lead and support implementation of the company Process Safety Management and provide Technical/Process Safety support for the life-cycle integrity of the facilities and contribute/chair Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), HAZID, HAZOP, HAZAN, LOPA, etc. Manage third party consultants for completion of all safety studies including coordination of meetings, workshops, providing required documents to consultants and reviewing reports. Coordinate and review reports developed by consultants for Fire, Gas, Dispersion, Explosion Assessment using industry recognized software tools such as DNV PHAST and SAFETI. Develop/ support development/ review of hazardous area classification schedule and drawings for in-house packages/Modifications (MOC) / FEED & EPIC projects. Develop Safety Design / Loss Prevention requirements for in-house upgrades, de-bottlenecking and facility enhancement projects. Carry out document review & approvals for all on-going engineering studies, FEED and EPC projects. Review and provide inputs to tender documentation related to Safety Design for new projects and modifications/debottlenecking projects. Provide discipline related technical support for bid reviews and clarifications for new tenders/projects for all Technical HSE requirements. Education Bachelor in Chemical Engineering or Safety/HSE or equivalent Minimum 15 years’ experience with minimum 5 years in Operations, 5 years in similar position in Oil and Gas industry & 5 years in Engineering and Safety & Risk Consultancy. Conversant with UK HSE, OSHA, API, NFPA, ANSI, BS 61511/IEC 61508/IEC 61511, CCPS etc. and how they relate to Projects / Maintenance and operational processes.
