In this role, you will engage daily with team members to resolve issues and collaborate with key stakeholders to support our internal customers and their operational needs.How will you make a difference? As a member of the Field Services group, the Lean Coordinator & Operations Supervisor will leverage their experience and expertise to solve problems, enhance processes, and lead lean initiatives within the locomotive maintenance operations. This role demands strong leadership and effective communication of business goals, programs, and processes across operational teams.What do we want to know about you? Are you a collaborative and supportive problem solver with a constant focus on continuous improvement?Experience And QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college with at least 4 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment.Preference will be given to applicants with Engineering experience in a dynamic environment, Services or filed services, a bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Engineering or Applied Science highly desired.Knowledge of standard work, value stream mapping, Yamazumi, Kaizen, 5S, and other lean tools.Managerial level presentation skills must be able to sell ideas and influence others.Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate across levels and within a complex matrix.Self-driven, outgoing, energetic, passionate, and positive attitude about change.Strategic and clear thinker that solves and prevents problems.Innovative thinker, able to come with new ideas and willing to take risks to creatively solve issues.Life-long learner who will remain coachable – passion around continuous and technology improvements.This position is an onsite role.What will your typical day look like? Attend all required technical training related to locomotives and successfully complete the necessary assessments to earn certification as an accredited supervisor (L1 Certification).Act as a change agent by implementing Lean tools and methodologies within the locomotive maintenance process, focusing on both operational workflows and material supply areas.Develop and execute team strategies to achieve world-class Locomotive Maintenance Shops.Support lean strategies to reduce lead time and eliminate waste.Drive measurable improvements in productivity and product flow.Apply the Lean Roadmap to develop model procedures.Lead Action Workouts: system development, personnel training, and process optimization.Create and implement value stream maps to eliminate waste across service lines.Support Torreón and Guadalajara service shops in establishing flow and visual management systems.Promote Lean tools to optimize material flow from component plants to point of use.Lead Special Projects Team in analyzing and implementing process changes.Collaborate with salaried staff on the test support team to ensure balanced workload distribution.What about the physical demands of the job?Exposure to shop floor requires wearing PPE.Walking, climbing, stooping, stooping, bending, lifting is all part of the hands-on learning process.Who are we?
