Summary of Job:The Learning Designer is responsible for the strategic design, development, and deliveryof online learning experiences for a variety of students, from K-12, to higher education,to corporate training. This role blends the creative and pedagogical elements of learningdesign, ensuring that course materials are engaging, accessible, and aligned with theintended educational outcomes. Learning Designers collaborate with clients, faculty,subject matter experts (SMEs), and internal teams to craft innovative learningarchitectures, assessment strategies, and multimedia components that enhance theonline learning environment.In this role, you will focus primarily on designing online courses for schools,universities, and corporate groups, leveraging your expertise in both instructionaldesign and content development. You'll ensure all materials align with best practices inpedagogy and instructional technology, while also contributing to the creation andrefinement of content, ensuring it meets the needs of young learners.Key Responsibilities:● Design engaging and effective online learning experiences, collaborating withinternal and external stakeholders to ensure content meets educationalstandards.● Develop course architecture, learning strategies, and assessments aligned withthe specific needs of students.● Write, review, and revise educational materials, ensuring clarity, engagement,and accessibility for students.● Work with media teams to create and refine multimedia elements, ensuring thesecomponents complement the course design.● Conduct research on pedagogy, instructional design, and subject matter to informcourse development.● Provide feedback on how the written course content can enhance and supplementmultimedia elements.● Collaborate on strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency,learning design quality, and product innovation within the team.● Support continuous improvement of design and writing processes, contributingto team development and innovation.Education and Experience:● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related fields (such asEnglish, Media Studies, or Creative Writing); a postgraduate qualification ispreferred.● 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, content development, or coursewriting.● Demonstrated expertise in online course design and development, with a strongunderstanding of pedagogical principles.● Experience in creating and revising educational materials across various subjectareas, with a focus on making content accessible to young learners.● Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with attention to detail andaccuracy.● High level of digital literacy and competency in researching and organizinginformation.● Experience with instructional media design and creative production is a plus.Key Skills:● Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to workeffectively with clients, faculty, SMEs, and internal stakeholders.● Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently whilemanaging multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.● Capacity to handle ambiguity and adapt quickly to change in a dynamic workenvironment.● Competency in balancing deadlines and quality in high-pressure situations.● Experience in education publishing or content development is highly desirable.Working Conditions: LearningMate is a dynamic, fast-paced environment wherecollaboration and independence are equally valued.
