Life Science Engineering Internship (F/M/D)

Facing the challenges of our timeHelp us grow and be more impactful!We are looking for a passionate intern - starting date ideally in January 2026Your missionAs an intern in the Automated Sample Handling group, you will support all activities in the Life Science Technologies area with a focus on microfluidics, sample handling, and lab automation for in-vitro diagnostics, organoids, Organ-on-a-Chip, and regenerative medicine applications. Examples of current and past projects include (but are not limited to) EMAPS (organ-on-chip, lab automation), Phorever (microfluidic purification, detection, and monitoring of extracellular vesicles), Photo-Sens (microfluidic & photonic detection of pathogens in aquaculture), and LiBRA (microfluidic contamination detection for bioprocessing). Within the strategic goals of the group, you will contribute to the development of disruptive technologies. The work will be primarily engineering, but in close collaboration with biologists, chemists, and physicists (may involve travel to other CSEM sites).Your profileKnow-howStrong background in a life science-related field (e.g. engineering, physics, biology, chemistry)Wet lab experienceExperience with fluidics and / or cell handling systemsRapid prototyping (e.g. 3D printing, micromilling, hot embossing), CAD (e.g. SolidWorks)Word, Excel, PowerPointStrong English-speaking skills required, German and / or French-speaking skills a plusInterpersonal SkillsDriven and motivatedGood communication skillsHighly collaborativeFlexible and adaptable thinking / operating styleCSEM mission and valuesOur mission is the development and transfer of innovative technologies to the Swiss industry.
