Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and provide services in a professional manner. Maintain defensive driving & zero-fines goal. Perform regular vehicle care and maintenance (i.e. oil change, tire rotation, cleaning, etc.) on assigned vehicles required in order to maintain the safe, working condition of the vehicleCoordinate the schedule for major repairs or periodic vehicle maintenance with the department to minimize service interruptions. Read, understand, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Traffic Department of the country of operations. Read and interpret road signs, maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service. Plan routes and requirements by studying daily schedule or requests by the operations team. Transport goods, guests and/or employees between designated locations. Document and maintain an accurate, up-to-date records of vehicle’s daily/monthly driving mileage log sheets, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested by the department. Report health & safety, environmental, and food safety hazards and near miss/incident observed in the workplace to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. To follow, apply and maintain all applicable ISO standards and requirements. REGULAR INTERNAL CONTACTS:Regular communication and interaction with teammates in the department and other teamsREGULAR EXTERNAL CONTACTS:Regular contact with client's transport/logistics unit representatives, suppliers/vendors for collection/delivery of rations and materialsMINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:High School Certificate or equivalent, Defensive Driving CertificationYEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE WITH MINIMUM EDUCATION REQ'T:3 years' relevant work experience with good safe driving recordSYSTEMS/ EQUIPMENT OPERATION KNOWLEDGE:Valid driver's license (classified small vehicle)TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/ PROFESSIONAL TRAINING REQUIRED:Defensive Driving Training completion an advantage, Basic vehicle upkeep skills- tire changing, vehicle inspection/ check, etc. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Physiologically fit to work in food handling operations & remote site locationsCan lift without aid 25 kgsExperience in NGO/ food rations project an advantageBasic English language - read/write/speakAdvantage if knows language of operational location/ countryCOMPETENCIES:Collaborative workingTime ManagementCommunicationPlanning & OrganizingDiligence in carrying out tasksCustomer Service OrientationSafety Mindset
