Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and internal customer servicesDirect, optimize and coordinate transport & logistics activitiesLiaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and silent representatives when neededKeep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency of services offered by the Transport & Logistics teamResolve any arising problems or complaints in the scope of workSupervise, coach, and train transport and logistics workforceMeet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targetsWorks closely with the team and relevant internal departments (QHSE, Supply Chain) to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and relevant ISO requirements Implement the company performance management process by setting KPI’s for direct reports, conducting regular reviews, identifying training requirements and providing learning opportunities on the job through on-the-job training and/or coaching/ mentoring. Making sure all requests are handled within 48hrs ahead of schedule, i.e: Gross Weights for AirTransportation and DFS, Container's and Trucks Clearance for Sea Transportation. Allocating Containers in line with Transport KPI. Covering for Transport Clerk and assisting in uploading loading pictures and preparing daily reportsReport health & safety, environmental, and food safety hazards and near miss/incident observed in the workplace to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. To follow, apply and maintain all applicable ISO standards and requirements. REGULAR INTERNAL CONTACTS:Regular communication and interaction with teammates in the department and other department heads/ managersREGULAR EXTERNAL CONTACTS:Regular communication with vendors, transport and logistics service providers, and client representativesMINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:Diploma in Logistics Management, Customs Administration or related field YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE WITH MINIMUM EDUCATION REQ'T:8 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years as a Transport/ Logistics supervisor or team leaderSYSTEMS/ EQUIPMENT OPERATION KNOWLEDGE:Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), Knowledge of Logistics software an advantageTECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/ PROFESSIONAL TRAINING REQUIRED:Knowledge of International Transportation Industry, Customs Clearance activities in the country/ies of operation or regionOTHER REQUIREMENTS:Physiologically fit to work in food handling operations & remote site locationsAbility to handle multiple activities and manage wellExperience in NGO/ food rations project an advantageVery good skills of English language - read/write/speakAdvantage if knows the language of operational location/ countryCOMPETENCIES:Teambuilding skillsTime ManagementCommunicationPlanning & OrganizingProject ManagementLeadership skillsDecision MakingConflict Management
