Job Description

Job PurposeTo formulate internal control, monitoring and governance standards for Business Banking portfolio. Key result AreasDevelop and manage internal control and governance standards for customer onboardingDevelop and manage portfolio monitoring and governance with focus on online channel usage, KYC accuracy, site visitsFocus on L3 customers for patterns, account throughput, etc.

Ensure that the KYC alerts and profiles are validated and required actions takenReview, monitor and control departmental high risk items such as MER, ONR and deferralsEnsure completion of training modules and awareness of risk for all staffPerform regular governance checks through field visitsDevelop self-governing practices that help detect fraudulent applicationsLiaise with FP&I for best practiceImplement compliance requirements laid down by Central Bank guidelinesOPERATING ENVIRONMENT, FRAMEWORK AND BOUNDARIES, WORKING RELATIONSHIPSWork closely with relationship and service teams, Compliance, CIC, CCAM, Credit Operations and FP&IProactively manage impact of regulatory changes as the first line of defenseProactively control portfolio riskPROBLEM SOLVINGAbility to understand issues and develop control frameworkAbility to analyze data to make intelligent deductionsDECISION MAKING AUTHORITY & RESPONSIBILITYDecision making and authority on portfolio controlsDecision making and authority on control framework with specific thrust on KYC and compliance standards, due diligenceKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceUniversity degree, preferably MBA required with 4 years of banking experience with 1-2 years of relevant experienceExperience in managing AML/Compliance or similar monitoring roles
