Position OverviewThe Director, Corporate Finance, leads FedEx Freight’s capital structure, debt financing, and long-term funding strategy as the company transitions into a standalone public enterprise. Reporting to the VP, Treasurer & Investor Relations, this role drives strategic decision-making around liquidity, capital markets access, and credit rating optimization, ensuring the company’s financial resilience and strategic flexibility post-spin. The Director partners with the CFO, Treasurer, Investor Relations, and FP&A to manage external rating agency relationships, execute debt and investment transactions, and develop policies and metrics that guide balance sheet management, capital allocation, and shareholder value creationEssential Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesCapital Structure & FinancingLead design and execution of FedEx Freight’s capital structure and financing strategy to ensure liquidity and cost efficiencyManage credit facilities, debt issuance, and refinancing activities; maintain compliance with covenantsOversee cash flow forecasting models supporting capital allocation decisionsStrategic Partnerships & External RelationsServe as primary point of contact for banks, rating agencies, and investors regarding financing and credit mattersPrepare credit rating presentations, investor materials, and financial disclosures in coordination with the Treasurer and Investor RelationsSupport CFO and Treasurer in evaluating strategic alternatives, including M&A, dividends, and share repurchase policiesGovernance & Policy DevelopmentDevelop and maintain corporate finance policies, procedures, and metricsCollaborate with FP&A and Accounting to ensure consistency between forecasts, funding plans, and financial statementsDrive compliance with all regulatory and disclosure requirements related to debt and capital marketsLeadership & Team DevelopmentManage and mentor a Corporate Finance Analyst; cultivate analytical excellence and professional growthPromote a high-performance, collaborative culture that values integrity and continuous improvementDisclaimer: This description outlines the role’s general nature and key responsibilities; it is not an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications requiredQualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related discipline requiredMaster’s degree (MBA or MS Finance) preferredProfessional certification (CFA, CPA, or CTP) a plusExperience And Skills10+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance, Treasury, or Investment Banking within a large, complex organizationProven experience leading debt or equity financing transactions and managing external financial relationshipsDeep understanding of capital structure management, cost of capital, and credit rating dynamicsExperience partnering with senior executives and Boards on capital market strategiesKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesIn-depth knowledge of capital markets, credit facilities, and financing instrumentsStrong analytical skills in financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessmentExecutive-level written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex financial topicsAdept at collaborating cross-functionally across Finance, Accounting, Tax, and LegalStrategic thinker with the ability to balance risk management and growth objectivesProficiency with Treasury Management Systems (e.g., GTreasury), financial modeling, and ERP tools (e.g., Oracle)Job ConditionFast-paced, high-visibility role with exposure to executive leadership, banks, and rating agencies.Preferred QualificationsPeriodic travel required for meetings and roadshowsPay TransparencyPay: Additional Details: This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR.
