Position titleMechanical EngineerBrief descriptionA mechanical engineer is a professional who designs, develops, and tests mechanical devices, machines, and systems.Designing and developing mechanical components and systems, such as engines, machines, and tools, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.Conducting research and analysing data to develop new mechanical designs or improve existing ones.Collaborating with other engineers and professionals, such as electrical engineers, to integrate mechanical systems with other components.Developing and testing prototypes of mechanical systems to ensure that they meet design specifications and perform according to requirements.Managing projects and coordinating with other teams to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.Conducting quality control checks and overseeing the manufacturing and assembly of mechanical components and systems.Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for mechanical systems in the field.Keeping up to date with new technologies and advances in the field, and participating in ongoing training and professional development.Conducting routine maintenance on vehicles and machinery, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.Diagnosing mechanical issues and problems, using diagnostic tools and equipment.Repairing or replacing damaged or faulty parts and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.Conducting safety inspections and ensuring that vehicles and machinery are safe and roadworthy.Keeping accurate records of repairs and maintenance work, including details of parts used, labor costs, and the duration of repairs.Communicating effectively with customers to explain the nature of repairs needed, and providing estimates for the cost of repairs.Maintaining a clean and organized work area, and following proper safety procedures and guidelines.Keeping up to date with new technologies and advances in the field, and participating in ongoing training and professional development.Follow the policies and procedures set by DAKRI CARTONS LTD Quality Management System [QMS]Abide by Health and Safety Management SystemsQualifications And RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentCourses and training done in a recognised institutionYou should have a good foundation in maths, science, and EnglishMinimum 5 years’ experience in the same positionCompetenciesStrong technical aptitudeAttention to detailExcellent problem-solving skillsGood communication and teamwork skillsAble to work well independently or as part of a teamReporting LinesMaintenance ManagerWorking conditionsNormal working hours are from 07:00 to 17:00.Required to work on Saturdays and overtime if and when needed.You will undergo employee evaluations on a regular basis, at least once a year.
