Mechanical Engineer

FabLab Bosnia and Herzegovina is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. This role offers an opportunity to product developmen with advanced prototyping technologies and contribute to ongoing R&D and industrial innovation projects. The ideal candidate is a technically skilled and motivated professional with at least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a production, industrial, or design buro environment. Additionally, the selected candidate will participate in FabMobile educational activities across Bosnia and Herzegovina during February, March, and April 2026, delivering technical education sessions and demonstrations as part of FabLab’s outreach initiatives. Key Responsibilities Participate in the design, testing, and optimization of mechanical systems and assemblies Contribute to prototyping and fabrication of mechanical components using additive and subtractive technologiesPerform mechanical analysis, component validation, and technical documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electronics, design, robotics) to deliver integrated solutions Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and interns Support continuous improvement initiatives, including the implementation of 5S methodology in laboratory operations Actively participate in FabMobile educational programs across Bosnia and Herzegovina (travel required during Feb–Apr) Share technical knowledge with students, educators, and participants through prepared training sessions Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing environment Experience in design software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, prototyping, and testing Hands-on experience with 3D printing, CNC and other technologiesStrong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Working proficiency in English Eagerness to share knowledge and engage with others through teaching and demonstrations Willingness to travel across Bosnia and Herzegovina   Example Project Areas Boca2Print – Recycled PET to 3D Filament MachineOptimization of RPET joining and extrusion mechanisms Validation of mechanical design and automation integration using Arduino hardware Collaborative Robotics: Integration and testing of UR collaborative robot (UR5e) for research and demonstration setups Laboratory Optimization: Redesign of fabrication workspace layouts using lean manufacturing and 5S principles What We Offer Opportunity to work on real-world engineering and innovation projects Access to advanced prototyping and digital manufacturing equipmentCollaboration with engineers, designers, and innovators across disciplines Continuous professional development through workshops, events, and networking activities Supportive and creative working environment  If you meet these qualifications, send your CV today to hr@fablab.baSubject line: “Mechanical Engineer 2025”
