M/E Engineering is currently interviewing for a Mechanical Project Engineer in our Buffalo, NY office. We are a full-service MEP engineering firm providing design and technology services to our clients. M/E Engineering is committed to leveraging the talent of a diverse workforce to create great opportunities for our business and our people.ResponsibilitiesIndependently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adoptions and modifications to create schematic. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variablesWorks with Principal, Associate, and/or Senior Engineer/Designer to clarify project scope and schedule of deliverablesProvides supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy mattersConsults with Principal, Associate, Group Manager or Senior Engineer concerning unusual problems and developmentPrepares project plans and specificationsSupervises Designers and CAD Operators as related to tasks in progress. Responsible for accuracy of design, specifications, drawings, etcEstablishes project design concepts, design criteria and scope, space requirements, etcMakes engineering computationsProjects cost estimatingCoordinates between trades, architect, client, etcResponsible for equipment selection, sizing, etcChecks work of designers and CAD operatorsReviews shop drawingsProvides suggestions for improvements of M/E standardsSupervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of Designers and CAD OperatorsPerforms all other related duties as assigned. Education and ExperiencePreferably has a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working toward P.E. LicensingBachelor of Science Degree or equivalentTwo years of experience in responsible charge of project design in respective disciplineCompensation RangeThe compensation range for this position is $72,500 - $87,360 per year.
