Location: Calgary, ABObjectives:Our client, a professional engineering firm, has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer who has a strong grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals, and exposure to process engineering, equipment design, piping, instrumentation interfaces, and project coordination. The successful candidate will support projects from early concept development and FEED through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning for upstream oil and gas facilities and pipelines. They will contribute to diverse projects, each ranging from $1 million to $200 million total capital cost. Qualifications: At a minimum, we require:Accredited Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Industrial, or related).5-10 years of experience providing project engineering services for oil and gas facilities and pipelines, with an emphasis on mechanical engineering.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.Ideally, you possess: Mechanical Engineering degree.Experience working with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) firms.Job Type: Full Time, standard (Mon-Fri, 8:30-4:30)Compensation: Competitive Salary.Discretionary Bonus, based on individual and company performance.Comprehensive Benefits.---RESPONSIBILITIESEngineering Design & AnalysisConduct engineering calculations such as pump hydraulics, PSV sizing, heat transfer analysis, and equipment/line hydraulics.Support development of process simulations, mass and energy balances, and hydraulic models.Assist in creating PFDs, P&IDs, line lists, cause & effect matrices, and control narratives.Participate in equipment sizing (vessels, separators, exchangers, pumps) and relief system support.Mechanical Equipment Specification & ProcurementPerform mechanical design and engineering for rotating and static equipment including pumps, compressors, vessels, exchangers, and air coolers.Prepare equipment datasheets, specifications, requisitions, and support technical bid evaluations.Review vendor drawings, participate in design reviews, and manage vendor package interfaces.Project CoordinationParticipate in multidisciplinary coordination across mechanical, process, piping, civil, electrical, and I&C.Collaborate with piping designers on layout, equipment spacing, accessibility, nozzle orientation, and code compliance (ASME, API, CSA).Provide interfaces with instrumentation and controls teams, including supporting instrument specifications and control philosophy development.Assist in preparing scopes, estimates, schedules, MOCs, and supporting overall project engineering activities.Provide construction and commissioning support, including field engineering, vendor coordination, and startup activities.---Work Environment: Employees have more stable careers with the organization, than is typical in the industry.
