Based at John Hunter Hospital, we are looking for highly motivated team players. The NSW Health Pathology Molecular Medicine Department is located a short drive from Newcastle, on the John Hunter Hospital Campus, with beautiful surroundings and outdoor areas. You will be part of a dedicated, committed, and positive team that strives for excellence in delivering high-quality Genomics services to NSW communities. Working alongside highly trained and experienced technical and scientific staff, you’ll contribute to innovative genomic testing solutions that make a real impact. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a highly sophisticated Genomics Laboratory that specialises in cancer genomic testing in addition to undertaking routine molecular genetics and cytogenetic investigations. We have multiple temporary vacancies in our Germline, Haematology Oncology and Somatic Oncology teams. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a range of operational laboratory activities including the coordination and provisions of scientific and technical training and the ongoing review, development and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering a range of operational laboratory activities including the coordination and provisions of scientific and technical training and the ongoing review, development and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement.
