Job Description

Mission: Manage the planning, the design and the optimization of the entire Transmission Network in line with company business strategy.

Ensure adequate Transmission actions are performed at the right time and within the given constraints to meet the company business objectives for consumers and Corporates (EBU customers) Oversee all Transmission Networks Planning and optimization, including Fiber (FTTS, FTTH, DWDM), Microwave (urban and inter-urban, PTP and PtMP), VSAT (including LEO) Provide appropriate, stable and reliable backhaul to all RAN Network, especially 2G, 3G, LTE, 5G, Wimax, Wispeed, FWA, WIFI radio access network Manage the TX and EBU/Fiber specialists, including those in regions. Oversee and manage MS/NPM activities related to Transmission.

Lead with CareCan-do with IntegrityCollaborate with AgilityServe with RespectAct with InclusionResponsibilities Assess and consolidate all TX Planning CAPEX projects and submit to Network Group Finance for budget process preparationParticipate in supplier selection for the delivery of requisite Transmission solutionPlan and manage Transmission budgetProvide directive / guidance for design of an optimized Transmission Network nodes and elementsFollow up Transmission project execution with the team to ensure project capitalization is done as plannedAssign technical lead for a Transmission Network projectsAssign the right Transmission resource for any raised issue or request from internal customers that need Transmission team involvementFollow up with suppliers any gap that is being raised during Transmission project executionPrepare Scope and Swap plans for planned activitiesFollow up to ensure permanent compliance of Business Continuity Process and Disaster Recovery Plan recommendationsExplore vendors enhanced products and features roadmaps as a proactive preparation of design architecture reviewsBring support to any requirements coming from regulation or any unplanned revenue increase initiative from the businessPrepare PDP of Transmission unit and share with Human resource teamElaborate Transmission Network Planning team IPFEvaluation performance of Transmission Network Planning team membersApproved change related to Transmission NetworkEnsure the providing of all needed documents for Transmission related projects to CPG for project planning process (CPB, WBS, etc.

)Coordinate the elaboration of Transmission Network Planning INPCoordinate the elaboration of SLAs with internal customersProvide monthly financial, PDP, and project report to the managementDefine job profiles and job descriptions of Transmission Network Planning team membersPerform needed action for staff recruitment within Transmission Network Planning unitEnsure the providing of monthly KPI report for the unitProvide key quarterly achievement and quarterly plan of the unit to the managementValidation of process and procedure governing Transmission Network activitiesValidation of Transmission Network PoliciesParticipate on training courses as booked or as recommended by HRMinimum Job Requirements: Education: B. Sc. in Electrical/ Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.

Master’s degree is a plus. Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing and implementing TX projects, with experience in supervising/managing others. Experience working in a medium to large organization. Experience with third party Transmission solutions providersTraining/Certification: TX Networks Planning and DesignCapacity and Dimensioning for TX NETWORKSMicrowave Link DesignMicrowave Networks Planning and OperationFiber Optic Networks Design and OperationsArchitecture engineeringDigital services and ICT solutions as a plusTOGAF 9 Level 1&2, ITIL V3 Foundation, or equivalent would be advantageousKnowledge:

Strong knowledge of network architecture for telecom industryStrong knowledge of Transmission Planning (Microwave and Fiber)Good understanding of radio (2G/3G/4G/5G) network planning & optimization techniques and constraintsUnderstanding of wider trends in the international and local telecoms industry. Be computer and internet literate. Understand principles of software & database development. Good understanding of the principles of IP basics (addressing, routing VLANs, VPN, etc. )Map reading skills.
