It houses some prestigious collections, including the world-renowned Post Office stamps, in a stunning layout that testify to Mauritius' historical and cultural wealth and diversity.We Are On The Lookout ForJob vacancy: Museum Shop and Visitor Services AssistantJob PurposeProvide product information to customers, including details about museum merchandise, souvenirs, and entry tickets, and process payments accurately. The role also supports the overall visitor experience by dealing with Tour Operators, assisting with boutique operations, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with museum standards and security procedures. Additionally, the position contribute to stocktaking and promotional activities to enhance sales and customer engagement.In this role you will, Manage shop operations throughout the day, including preparing displays and maintaining order to create an appealing shop environment for visitors. Perform sales promotion tasks to increase sales and enhance visitor engagement with the museum shop and ticketing services. Provide a quality service to visitors, including greeting and assisting visitors, answering and channeling phone calls, handling inquiries and ensuring smooth end-to-end handling of customer requests to achieve the highest level of satisfaction. Provide product and service information to visitors, such as prices, availability, and general details about souvenirs and any upcoming events and/or exhibitions. Develop and maintain museum security guidelines in collaboration with protection officers to ensure the safe display and handling of valuable exhibits, in line with established standards and protocols. Handle cashier transactions efficiently, including daily till reconciliation. Record revenue and expense entries, maintain accurate account books, process supplier payments promptly, and follow up on outstanding invoices within agreed timelines. Carry out inventory tasks by following clear instructions and established procedures. To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies: Build strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions. We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have a HSC + Vocational certificate in Tourism and Hospitality or any equivalent linked to the job responsibilities A minimum of 1 year experience in cash handling, bookkeeping, or similar responsibilities within the retail or service industry OR HSC A minimum of 3 years' experience in cash handling, bookkeeping, or similar responsibilities within the retail or service industry A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.Please ensure all required information is accurately entered in relevant sections.
