Job Description

The Packaging Engineer is responsible for securing the products into the appropriate packing, work on the machinery that assists with the involved processes, and communicate with internal departments as well as customers.General Responsibilities Leads various tasks such as packing, wrapping, securing, or labeling containers Leads the development of innovative technology alternatives, analyze the options, and recommend the best technical solution Develops various packaging concepts in coordination with finished products and materials used to ensure compatibility of packaging with manufacturing unit Collaborates with both national and international vendors to negotiate total price of materials needed for the labeling / packaging and delivering of products Experience / Qualifications A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience. Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customersKey Points :Expert on Customer (Mainly OEM’s) Packaging and Labeling RequirementsOwns Process to Change Packaging and Label Instructions within Sensata.Works close with Product Management and Engineering team.Support DE in case of new Product Development, is SME for Packaging and Labeling.Initiates Process Improvements in Packaging Change Process and Labels Ticketing Process.Works close with the Logistic Warranty Expert/Logistic Quality in case of Packaging and Labeling Non-Conformities leading to significant Customer Chargebacks, cost avoidance actions to be initiated.Main responsibilities:Change Master label position in existing Packaging Drawing.Change Single label position in existing Packaging Drawing.Update/Apply additional information for the packaging documents in the Drawing.Update/Apply information for the packaging components in the drawing (Pallet, KLTs, Carton Boxes, Pallet covers).Update/ Apply General instructions for the packaging in the Distribution Center (Number of boxes in one layer, number of layers in one pallet, some specifics and needed actions to ensure the good condition of the shipments.Make updates on Repackaging Drawing if agreed repackaging process is in place.Submit the change request to the Drafting Team and follow up.Make sure the change was done and new drawing was uploaded in Oracle.Inform Customer Service and Logistics Team for the change.SmarterTogetherCollaborating at Sensata means working with some of the world’s most talented people in an enriching environment that is constantly pushing towards the next best thingEmployees work across functions, countries and cultures gaining new perspectives through mutual respect and open communication As OneSensata, we are working together to make things work together Click here to view Sensata Recruitment Privacy StatementClick here to view our Sensata Recruitment Privacy Statement for ChinaNOTE: If you are a current Sensata employee (or one of our Affiliates), please back out of this application and log into Workday via the Company Intranet to apply directly.
