Job Title: Part-Time Insight Academy PrincipalLocation: Islamic Society of Orange County (ISOC), Garden Grove, CAPosition Type: Part-Time (Sundays, plus limited weekday planning hours)Pay Range: $35-40 per hourOverview:Islamic Society of Orange County is seeking a motivated  and experienced part-time School Principal to lead our educational programs at Insight Academy (IA). The Principal shall have strong educational and professional experience, a proven ability to recruit and retain high-quality staff and teachers, and expertise in designing and implementing professional development programs.Key Responsibilities:LeadershipProvide vision and leadership for the IA program in alignment with ISOC’s mission.  Maintain effective communication with parents, teachers, and the Orange County Masjid (OCM) Board.Create a strong sense of community and esprit de corps through effective human relations.Identify and creatively utilize human, material, and financial resources to achieve school goals.Set and achieve measurable annual school goals.Maintain an active and visible presence throughout the school community.Liaise with PTO for special events.Curriculum Development and InstructionsLead and participate in curriculum development activities in line with the OCM Board, state, and national standards and goals.Ensure teachers implement curriculum and lesson plans as provided by Curriculum. Specialist/OCM Board. Provide opportunities for staff to increase program expertise and professional knowledge.Conduct periodic teacher observations and provide feedback.Support teachers in incorporating modern, engaging instructional methods.Student Progress and Parent EngagementEmphasize student achievement as the primary outcome of schooling.Systematically assess and monitor student progress using objective and verifiable information.Communicate progress and expectations with parents regularly.Work with staff to support both high-achieving and struggling students.Make referrals to appropriate community agencies or specialty schools when necessary.Ensure teachers send weekly parent class recap updates.Student and Staff RelationsModel effective human relations skills and foster positive interactions.Recognize and reward student and teacher efforts.Promote improvement of school, student, and staff self-image.Foster collegial relationships with and among teachers and staff.Communicate high expectations for staff and students and provide appropriate motivation.Establishing an Effective WorkplaceDevelop and maintain positive staff morale.Implement a fair, consistent discipline code that fosters respect and learning.Inspire and guide staff, students, and families by articulating the school philosophy and vision.Protect instructional time and minimize administrative interruptions.Promote a climate of openness, trust, and respect.Orient new teachers to school programs and available resources.Serve as a role model for expected staff behavior.Staff Development and SupervisionRecruit, train, and retain high-quality staff and teachers.Plan and implement a systematic personnel performance evaluation program.Make personnel assignments based on ability, qualifications, performance, and school needs.Ensure staff timeliness in the morning.Ensure dismissal runs smoothly. Ensure staff takes required breaks while ensuring proper staff coverage in school activities. Ensure office admin arranges for substitute teachers as needed. Ensure office admin follow standard safety protocol for any early dismissals. Evaluate teacher performance and address areas of improvement.Identify, plan, coordinate, and implement staff development programs based on assessments.Follow HR guidelines for staff write ups if ever necessary. Facilities Management and Campus Security Ensure adherence to the ISOC security protocols.Develop disaster, safety, crisis, and evacuation plans.Ensure minor safety during lunch/recess - create and implement strong staff yard duty schedules with the support of admin assistant. Work with facilities to ensure gates are locked and secure during school hours. Liaise with facilities as needed. Perform safety walkthroughs during school hours, particularly monitoring gates and common restroom areas. Be aware of Masjid events on any given Sunday that school is in session for safety purposes, especially during prayer time.Community RelationsEngage with the school community to promote positive outcomes.Actively promote Insight Academy in the community (e.g., announcements, social media, community partners, and events). Seek appropriate parent participation and support in decision-making.Enrollment ManagementDevelop and implement strategies to increase enrollment, including outreach to new families and follow-up with prospective students.Monitor enrollment trends and set annual enrollment goals in collaboration with leadership.Focus on student retention by building strong relationships with families, seeking feedback, and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment.Record Keeping and Financial ManagementMaintain accurate personnel and student records (e.x. Special accommodations, medical records, etc).Assist the OCM Board with the annual budget and monitor expenditures effectively.Prepare board updates.Plan for equipment needs.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree required; Master’s in School Administration or Business preferred.3+ years of teaching experience, teaching credential preferred.Strong educational and professional experience.Demonstrated ability to hire, recruit, and retain high-quality staff and teachers.Expertise in professional development for teachers.Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong computer skills.Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.Strong interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving skills. Islamic Society of Orange County is an equal opportunity employer.
