Job Description

Role OverviewAs a Part-Time/Project Based Chain Consultant at InTraDev Afrique, you will support and deliver on projects that enhance our clients’ supply chain operations as a strategic capability. You will play a central role in both Supply Chain Solutions (logistics, lean distribution, inventory optimization, etc.) and Strategic Sourcing (procurement from global & emerging markets), in line with InTraDev’s service offerings. You will work closely with other consulting team and clients—especially in manufacturing, mining, energy, food & beverage, and logistics—to assess, design, and implement strategies that drive cost reduction, operational efficiency, and sustainable sourcing.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in scoping and delivery of client projects across InTraDev’s supply chain and sourcing services, including logistics network strategy, distribution design, lean manufacturing, 3PL outsourcing, and transportation management. Support the team leader in business development, to design winning proposals that align with InTraDev’s approach to supply chain excellence and strategic sourcing.Conduct research and benchmarking to identify best practices, emerging technologies, and process improvements relevant to clients’ supply chain challenges.Help define a future-state digital supply chain for clients, recommending technology-enabled solutions (e.g., supply chain visibility tools, automation, modern material handling) consistent with InTraDev’s capabilities. Lead or contribute to system implementation efforts: collaborate with clients to roll out supply chain innovations, process improvements, or third-party logistics (3PL) solutions.Support the strategic sourcing process: analyze client spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and help source from low-cost/high-quality global suppliers. Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers—especially in emerging markets—that meet clients’ technical, quality, and commercial specifications. Assist in supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and negotiation (while maintaining InTraDev’s standard of transparent and ethical sourcing). Facilitate operational improvements: inventory optimization, working capital reduction, and logistics excellence aligned with lean distribution principles. Provide client training, workshops, or change-management support to sustain improvements.Deliver project reporting, including assessments, KPIs, project roadmaps, and post-implementation reviews.Maintain up-to-date knowledge on supply chain trends, risk management, and sourcing strategies in West Africa and global marketsRequirements / QualificationsBachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Procurement, or a related field.At least 7 years of professional experience, with a combination of:Supply chain management (e.g., logistics, distribution, inventory, network design) and/orConsulting experience in strategy, operations, or procurementDeep hands-on expertise in at least one of these functional areas:Logistics & Distribution (warehousing, 3PL, transport)Production / Manufacturing PlanningProcurement / Strategic SourcingCost Management and OptimizationProven ability to conduct spend analysis, supplier sourcing, due diligence, and supplier performance management.Strong understanding of supply chain technologies (e.g., TMS/WMS, procurement platforms, automation) and their application in improving supply chain operations.Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel (for data analyses, modeling, and client deliverables).Solid research and analytical capabilities—able to produce actionable insights.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a consulting environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present to senior client stakeholders.Fluency in French & EnglishWillingness to travel occasionally (within region) for client engagements.What You’ll Gain / Why This Role MattersOpportunity to work on high-impact projects that shape supply chain strategy for leading manufacturers, retailers, and logistics companies in West Africa.Exposure to both strategic sourcing and operational supply chain optimization, giving a broad and deep consulting experience.Flexible working arrangement: part-time and project-based, allowing you to balance other commitments.Collaboration with a boutique, highly entrepreneurial consultancy (InTraDev Afrique) with strong regional presence and global outlook. Chance to contribute to sustainable sourcing practices, by developing long-term sourcing partnerships with emerging market suppliers. Learning and leadership: support system implementation and change management, enhancing your consulting and technical skills.
