This role ensures accurate salary computation, statutory compliance, and timely payments while maintaining high levels of confidentiality and data integrity. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, a sound knowledge of Nigerian payroll legislation, and experience in the financial services industry.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll AdministrationManage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timeliness and accuracyCollect, review, and validate payroll inputs (e.g., attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions, bonuses)Reconcile payroll data with HR and Finance recordsPrepare and distribute payslips to employeesStatutory ComplianceEnsure accurate calculation and remittance of statutory deductions (PAYE, Pension, NHF, NSITF, ITF, etc.) in line with Nigerian lawsStay updated on labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirementsLiaise with regulators and external auditors on payroll-related mattersReporting & AnalysisPrepare payroll reports for management, auditors, and regulatorsSupport HR and Finance in budgeting and forecasting staff costsMaintain accurate payroll records and ensure data confidentialitySystems & Process ImprovementUtilize HRIS and payroll software to improve accuracy and efficiencyRecommend and implement process improvements in payroll administrationEnsure system upgrades and integrations are properly configured for payroll needsEmployee SupportAddress payroll-related queries from employees in a timely and professional mannerCollaborate with HR on compensation and benefits issuesProvide clarity to employees on deductions, benefits, and payroll policiesKey QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field3-5 years of proven payroll management experience, preferably within the financial services sectorStrong knowledge of Nigerian payroll legislation, tax compliance, and statutory remittancesExperience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, PayDay, Oracle, etc.)Skills & CompetenciesStrong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detailExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesHigh level of integrity and ability to handle confidential informationGood communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting toolsProblem-solving and process improvement mindsetKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy of payroll runs (error-free)Timeliness of payroll processing and statutory remittancesEmployee satisfaction with payroll services (measured via HR surveys)Compliance with labor and tax regulationsReduction in payroll processing time through automationCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary and performance-based incentivesPension and statutory benefitsHealth and wellness coverageCareer development and training opportunitiesA collaborative and innovative work environmentPowered by JazzHRJZMOrHBpgE
