Job Overview: We’re recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to join the finance and payroll team of a highly respected and well-resourced organization in the Cayman Islands. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to take ownership of payroll operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
You’ll work in a collaborative environment with exposure to accounting processes, system implementations, and local employment laws—perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-integrity team. The role is offered on an 18-month contract, with a competitive salary of CI$55,000–CI$70,000 per annum. Key Responsibilities: • Process and administer wages, deductions, benefits, and other payroll functions for hourly and salaried employees across multiple companies monthly. • Maintain accurate employee records within the payroll system, ensuring compliance with company policies, Cayman Islands laws, and relevant payroll regulations.
• Prepare, reconcile, and review payroll reports, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliations, ensuring that adequate cash balances are maintained in all payroll-related bank accounts. • Prepare monthly and yearly payroll reports and respond to ad hoc reporting requests from management. • Assist in training sessions for payroll policies, procedures, and compliance with Cayman Islands Employment, Pension, and Health Laws. • Ensure all payroll accounting tasks are performed accurately and within required timelines. • Assist in the implementation of a new payroll system, including data migration, testing, and training. • Assist with additional payroll-related duties as needed. Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. • A minimum of 3 years of direct payroll experience. • Basic understanding of financial and general accounting practices and payroll processing• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Strong knowledge of Cayman Islands Employment, Pension, and Health Law as it relates to payroll requirements. • Excellent attention to detail, good organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
