The Strip Business Segment within SMP includes manufacturing plants in Wallingford, CT and Lancaster, PA.The Controller is accountable for various aspects of financial accounting, reporting and financial management of the Manufacturing Operations for the Strip Business Segment.In addition to providing financial reporting, planning and analysis support for the site, this person will support the day-to-day process for AP, AR, CAPEX and cash management, and provide necessary coverage on processing transactions when needed. The position relies heavily on analytical abilities and experience to sort through data and prepares meaningful information to assist management with decision making, financial deliverables, and business performance metrics and reports.This individual will report to the Director, Segment Controller.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform month-end financial close process including journal entries, account and intercompany reconciliations as well standard corporate reporting requirementsMaintain key account reconciliations and documentation to meet audit and SOX requirementsProvide support during physical inventory and or cycle countsFixed asset management, including capital budgets and spending, sale/scrap of equipment and tracking depreciation Assist with developing, maintaining, analyzing and reporting operating costsCompile various monthly and quarterly key metric and periodic management reportsDeliver all required finance/accounting data accurately and on time.Assist Company/External Auditors with annual/periodic audit activitiesInteract with operations and support with labor analysis reporting, ad hoc inventory reporting and variance analysis. Job RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required7- 10 years of finance/accounting experience requiredManufacturing Experience preferredDemonstrated ability to work productively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organizationDemonstrated proficiency with customary PC office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint requiredExperience with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning system or the equivalent preferred Critical thinker with the ability and desire to be promotedCompensationEmployee Type: SalariedSalary Minimum: $140,000Salary Maximum: $160,000Incentive: YesDisclaimer: Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.
