Be the driving force behind exceptional viewer experiences in a dynamic, tech-driven environment.The opportunity - Te tūrangaA Playout & Distribution Controller is a multi-skilled operational role; ensuring content is acquired, managed, delivered, and monitored as planned across designated platforms. You will champion the rapidly evolving expectations of our consumer and customers to ensure TVNZ's continued relevance and leadership in a dynamic video content market.Your focus will include the following:• Responsible for the playout of media in a multi-channel and cloud-based environment using a range of automation and graphics tools• Responsible for the delivery of Live and pre-recorded content across multiple platforms• Modify schedules as required to accommodate live programming and required schedule changes• Use the Media Asset Management system to playout long form programme content to required destinations using appropriate delivery platforms• Working with live sport and events to ensure best outcomes for TVNZ and its users – editorially and commercially• Monitoring day-to-day events, schedules, and VOD (Video on Demand) requirements to ensure tasks are complete and ready for our viewers• Troubleshoot technical issues on digital streaming platforms, liaising with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner• Updating and building metadata forms, booking event signals, and confirming imagery and video deliverables• Ensuring quality, from accuracy of your workflows through to the standards by which you check the outputs produced - both file and live event based• Monitor content distribution across all on-air and on-line delivery platforms ensuring the integrity of TVNZ’s consumer facing products• Use the monitoring tools provided to maintain an awareness of the overall status of all content distribution networks across linear and online platforms• Live switching of incoming/outgoing feeds using a variety of platforms. (Fibre, IP, Satellite, Web etc.)• Record incoming content feeds using the Media Asset Management system• Monitor transfers of live and pre-recorded content to ensure compliance with TVNZ standards• Import, export and transfer media using transcode and IP transfer technologiesThis role involves shift work on a rotating roster covering 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including Public Holidays.What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi neiWe are open minded in relation to your experience as it could be your first role out of study or you could be a couple of steps along in your media career• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Diploma or Bachelor’s in Media, TV/Film)• Experience in Media Exchange, Playout Control, Master Control or online environments• Familiarity with Media Asset Management systems and Broadcast Automation• Knowledge of linear and file-based media workflows and formats• Understanding of digital video contribution and distribution technologies across linear and online platforms• Industry experience in broadcast and/or online streaming media environments• Strong understanding of content delivery platforms and consumer devices• Ability to maintain productivity, communicate effectively and make sound decisions under pressure• Excellent time management and proven experience in time critical environments• Ability to navigate a wide range of applications across various operating systemsTono mai |Apply Now - We will be reviewing applications regularly and so may withdraw the job ad at any time.If you would like to find out more about this amazing opportunity, please feel free to call our Head of Talent Acquisitions, Philly Irvine, mobile 021 564 691, she loves to chat about TVNZ careers
