About the role: THIS IS A FIXED TERM 18 MONTH POSITIONContribute to policy analysis and advice on intergovernmental matters, including health reform initiatives and the negotiation and implementation of intergovernmental agreements, by gathering evidence, drafting analysis, and collaborating closely with policy and program leads across the department and with external partners.Support the preparation and coordination of high-quality briefing materials, policy papers, correspondence, and stakeholder updates to assist senior executives and Ministers to participate effectively in cross-jurisdictional discussions and national Ministerial and Senior Officials forums. This includes coordinating inputs, ensuring alignment with department processes, and tracking progress against deadlines.Develop concise written advice and materials on complex issues, undertaking research and analysis to inform departmental positions, identifying risks or emerging issues, and proposing practical options for consideration by more senior staff.Engage constructively with stakeholders, including counterparts in other jurisdictions, central agencies and internal program areas, to build understanding of Victorian perspectives, assist in preparing for negotiations, and support collaborative problem-solving.Support issues management and implementation tasks, including monitoring national policy developments, tracking actions and commitments from intergovernmental meetings, and providing timely updates to internal decision-makers.About UsAt the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world.
