Power Engineer

About the RoleThe role involves overseeing the operational integrity of the Power Supply system, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing maintenance activities to meet performance targets.ResponsibilitiesLiaise with external agencies on all matters pertaining to JRL Power Supply system and equipmentMeeting operational targets for availability and reliability of Power SupplyEnsure all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and in compliance with legislative requirementsProcure all necessary tools, spares and services pertaining to the operation of the systemDevelop and implement cost effective comprehensive maintenance programsPrepare and review and manage maintenance contracts (LTSS, External/Utilities Contracts). Certify outsourced maintenance contractor’s work, invoices, purchase orders and variation ordersResponsible for the formulation of asset management plans, preparation of associated maintenance budgets and asset performanceEnsure safe power arrangement for mainline and depot track access and works activitiesMonitor equipment failure trend and develop preventive solutionsPerform equipment obsolescence and alternate spare part studyDevelop and maintain Work Instructions and proceduresEnsure safe work and access for maintenance activitiesCarry out maintenance incident/accident investigationResponsible for the management of staff including participation in selection, discipline and performance review processesParticipate in troubleshooting, testing and commissioning of equipmentImplement and maintain Quality Management SystemUndertake tasks and projects as assigned by superiorRequirementsDegree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized by Professional Engineer Board,Singapore / Diploma in Electrical EngineeringFresh graduate or preferably with relevant working experience in maintenance of HV, LVand DC traction power equipment, preferably in a rail transportation environment
