You will bridge the gap between business and technology, leveraging your deep expertise in convenience POS systems, retail automation, and emerging technologies to architect scalable, compliant, and future-ready solutions.What You'll DoLead pre-sales technical engagements: scope projects, develop demos/POCs, respond to RFI/RFP/RFQ, and craft compelling technical proposals.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather requirements and design innovative solutions aligned with business goals.Advocate for our suite of products and technologies, ensuring seamless integration and customer satisfaction.Identify and address unique customer needs by coordinating with product and technical teams.Document and share solution designs and best practices for ongoing reference and improvement.Develop client-facing demos and contribute insights to product development teams.Support product rollouts, provide training, and troubleshoot critical deployments.Stay at the forefront of industry trends—fuel retail transformation, payment innovations, loyalty programs, and automation.Travel frequently across the MEA region to engage directly with customers and partners.Education/ AchievementsRequiredTechnical degree in Computer Science, Engineering or MathematicsAzure or AWS Public Cloud knowledge and related cloud technologiesHigh level understanding of XML, JAVA, REST, SOAP…etcHigh level understanding of MS-SQLWorking knowledge with APIs integration including RESTful APIsExperience/ KnowledgeTechnical Product/Software certifications an assetHas 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar client-facing roleHas previous experience in a traditional software development or Technical Pre-Sales role.Has strong analytical and debugging skills.Solution driven, able to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently, able to work alone or in a team, able to work with no supervision and under pressureExcels in a collaborative and cross-functional environment.Demonstrates professional communication skills on technical and business-related subjectsExperience working with payment gateways a major plusExcellent time management, organization, and planning skills are essentialFlexibility to travel as required to meet with clientsAbility to comprehend and translate complex technical issues and apply to business solutionsDemonstrate ability to articulate complex technical terms or processes into business languageAbility to synthesize technical information and apply to business solutionsAble to set priorities, influence others, and manage customer and partner expectationsDemonstrated success in customer and partner relationship managementYou are motivated, think outside of the box, and understand the purpose of process and proceduresExperience with continuous integration and test-driven development methodologiesExperienced in selling technical solutions is a major plusSpecific SkillsDeep knowledge of the convenience POS retail business, including industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.Experience with convenience POS retail systems, including hardware and software components.Extensive Knowledge in Automation, especially Point of Sales.Experience in Cloud technologiesAnalytical skillsHigh Calibre presentation skills to all client levels, including C-Suite clienteleStrong interpersonal skillsInnovatorAbility to aggregate different technology platformsProblem solverDisplays discipline and logic;Uncovers and clearly articulates the problem that needs to be solved.Is committed to excellence and understands how daily work impacts the customerHighly organized and task and deadline oriented displaying intense sense of urgencyDedicated to exceeding customer expectationsHigh problem-solving aptitudeWHO IS GILBARCO VEEDER-ROOTGilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is the worldwide technology leader for retail and commercial fueling operations, offering the broadest range of integrated solutions from the forecourt to the convenience store and head office.
