Through its unique RAL approach, ABS is dedicated to shaping ethical, innovative leaders and entrepreneurs who can transform Africa’s future.About the JobRole OverviewThe Tech Manager will be the cornerstone of the Center’s digital and technological infrastructure, responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling the tools and systems that power its entrepreneurial activities.Reporting to the Director of the Center of Entrepreneurship, the Tech Manager will lead the design and deployment of technology platforms that enhance the Center’s operations, streamline startup support, and accelerate entrepreneurship and venturing processes.This role combines hands-on technical management with strategic enablement. The selected candidate will serve as the Center’s internal technology lead — overseeing infrastructure, cloud systems, CRM, and digital platforms — while supporting startups in developing early prototypes and leveraging emerging technologies, including AI, to strengthen their products and operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Infrastructure and Systems DevelopmentDesign, build, and manage the Center’s digital presence, including websites, internal tools, and collaboration platforms.Implement and maintain a robust CRM system to manage startup pipelines, mentorship networks, budgets, and program tracking.Oversee IT administration, including account management, access control, and cloud setup (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).Ensure digital systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to support the Center’s growth and multiple stakeholders.Technology Enablement and Support for StartupsProvide technical guidance to startups during incubation and acceleration programs.Support venture teams in building MVPs, prototypes, and early-stage digital products using modern low-code or AI-assisted tools (e.g., Lovable, Retool, Bolt).Identify and deploy practical AI applications to enhance productivity, automate workflows, and strengthen decision-making within the Center and supported startups.Project and Vendor ManagementLead and coordinate technical initiatives.Manage external technology vendors, freelancers, and service providers, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.Define project roadmaps, prioritize features, and oversee end-to-end implementation for all tech-related initiatives.Operational ExcellenceMonitor system performance, conduct regular updates, and drive continuous improvement.Ensure alignment of all tech initiatives with UM6P and ABS standards of quality, security, and scalability.Qualifications & ProfileEducation & ExperienceMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.5 years minimum of professional experience in technical management, IT systems, or digital product development.Prior experience in a startup, innovation hub, or technology-driven academic environment is highly valued.Technical ExpertiseStrong foundation in web technologies, cloud infrastructure, and system integrations.Experience with CRM systems, automation tools, and workflow management software.Competence in managing technical vendors and coordinating multi-stakeholder projects.Familiarity with AI tools and low-code platforms for prototyping and rapid development.Behavioral CompetenciesEntrepreneurial mindset with a practical, solution-oriented approach.Strong organizational and project management skills.Ability to translate complex technical requirements into accessible solutions for non-technical stakeholders.Adaptability and curiosity to explore emerging technologies aligned with the Center’s mission.
