Job DescriptionThe Preschool Educator effectively creates a secure and quality learning environment for the children through nurturing trusting and respectful relationships with them. He/She enriches children’s learning by co-designing and implementing a developmentally and culturally appropriate curricula, while effectively integrating innovative teaching and learning practices. He/She is proactive and intentional in strengthening partnerships with families and the community, and co-designs collaborative efforts with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve this goal.As an experienced Early Childhood Educator, He/She guides the junior educators in enhancing their professional practice. He/She provides suggestions and ideas to improve professional development in the Centre, while also contributesing to the Centre’s culture of collaboration and collegiality.1 Plan and implement curriculum and programmesPlan developmentally appropriate teaching, learning and caregiving activities aligned to the relevant curricula frameworksReview results of learning needs assessmentGuide juniors in engaging children meaningfully in accordance with the curriculum and pedagogical frameworksCustomise classroom management strategiesDesign quality learning environment with developmentally appropriate learning materials and resourcesReview health, safety, nutritional and hygiene practices in accordance with standards and proceduresIdentify potential teaching and learning methods, tools and assistive technology based on emerging trends in the sectorEvaluate documentations of children's learning and development to better inform planning and teaching2 Build stakeholder relationships and partnershipsExecute communication strategies and policies to foster a culture of collaboration within the CentreIdentify opportunities to collaborate with families to ensure continuity of care and learning between the home and the Centre3 Manage family and community programmesDevelop outreach activities to promote Centre programmes and servicesGuide the execution of collaborative projects with families and community stakeholdersEvaluate family and community initiatives and programmes for improvements4 Conduct routine caregivingReview results of caregiving assessmentReview caregiving in accordance with standards and proceduresEvaluate routine caregiving improvement opportunities5 Uplift professional practiceCo-develop appropriate teaching and caregiving methods based on emerging sector trends, technologies and toolsAnalyse areas for improvements for professional practicePropose improvements to professional development and service quality improvement activitiesPromote Centre's vision, mission and valuesJob RequirementsDiploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Teaching (DECCE-T) in English or its equivalent and a minimum GCE 'O' Level B4 grade for Chinese, Malay or Tamil Language and C6 for English LanguageGreat team player.
