Job Description

Your role The pricing specialist is responsible for day-to-day pricing decisions that will contribute to passenger revenue targets and minimise distribution costs across the Aer Lingus network. This role collaborates closely with revenue management, sales, PR, loyalty, partners and alliances, customer contact centres, digital teams, IT delivery and many other areas to ensure that the tens of thousands of possible prices for Aer Lingus flights are accurate and appropriate. This role serves as a subject matter expert for Aer Lingus pricing and how these fares in all their variety are presented to the market. The individuals in this role will manage relationships with third party providers of pricing administration tools, and they will negotiate pricing interests and manage relationships with pricing counterparts at franchise, codeshare and AJB partner airlines.ContextThis is an enhanced brief compared to the previous structure which subdivided pricing responsibilities by geography and function, and it follows the division of the department in September 2021 when Distribution became part of the Customer directorate, and Pricing became part of the Planning and Strategy directorate. The people in these roles will be cross-functional, broadening to include any geographic region Aer Lingus participates in, with its unique competitor set and pricing administrative practises. All of the individuals will be managing relationships across the range of competing pricing interests (internal customers and third parties). It also formalises the incorporation of the Pricing Distribution roles that were eliminated in late 2020.Principal Accountabilities / ResponsibilitiesDevise, implement and analyse pricing tactics aimed at achieving scheduled passenger revenue targets and distribution objectives. This includes overall responsibility for the following (for example) base fares taxes and charges fare rules promotional activity negotiation with sales teams for corporate and tour operator fares negotiation of pricing policies involving codeshare, interline and franchise partners; Aer Club; staff travel distribution channel differentials fare class mapping group fares Ensuring that the tactics outlined above are distributed and displayed accurately to customers Manage franchise and other airline pricing/inventory counterpart relationships in order to advance Aer Lingus’s revenue generation strategyEvaluate and present results of initiatives to internal stakeholdersMonitor competitor pricing activity and decide appropriate responses to action Represent the pricing team’s interest in project work. Manage Aer Lingus relationships with third party service providers and technical forumsAdhere to robust security and audit controls in line with IAG and Aer Lingus policy Represent the Pricing Manager when called uponEssential Qualifications/Experience Your qualifications and key criteria A degree in Business, Economics or another related field is preferable; otherwise commensurate industry experienceA working knowledge of travel and hospitality industry pricing, demand elasticity or regulatory environmentsEssential Competencies/skillsGood computer skills including experience with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation packages, and a working knowledge of Revenue Management systemsAbility to cope well under pressure, juggle multiple tasks and adapt to changing prioritiesSolid numerical, analytical and problem-solving skillsGood interpersonal skills, a team player with the ability to liaise with internal departmentsStrong commercial acumen and understanding of Aer Lingus’s fare products, network and point of sale dynamicsDesirable CriteriaConfidence, assertiveness, flexibility and commitmentClosing Date: 28th November 2025 At Aer Lingus, we embrace diversity and believe in providing equal opportunities to all qualified individuals.
