These include well-known names such as Sun & Sand Sports, Dropkick, Supercare Pharmacy, Farm Fresh, Klassic, Nike, Columbia, Converse, Timberland, Vans, Mama Sita’s, and McCain.Role Summary:The Procurement Manager will lead category management and strategic sourcing initiatives to optimise procurement performance across key categories. The role involves developing and executing category strategies, identifying cost saving opportunities, managing supplier relationships and ensuring procurement align with business goals. The manager will work cross functionally with internal stakeholders to achieve long term sourcing strategies that deliver value, reduce risk and ensure the supply of quality goods and services. Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement category management plans across assigned spend areas, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term procurement strategies. Identify and lead cost optimisation initiatives, including supplier rationalisation, contract renegotiation, and process improvements to drive savings and value creation. Conduct market analysis to understand supply market dynamics, trends, and risks, and use this insight to inform category strategies. Lead the strategic sourcing process, including RFx development, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract execution. Undertake supplier negotiations, recommend supplier selections and implement contracts.Manage key supplier relationships, driving performance through service level agreements (SLAs) and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement needs are met, including ensuring the right balance of cost, quality, and delivery. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards, while monitoring regulatory changes that may affect procurement activities. Track and report on procurement performance metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and risk management. Manage supplier performance on key critical projects to ensure optimum performance and delivery against contractual obligations. Utilise cost management techniques and initiatives and drive cost saving strategic initiatives to ensure GMG achieves best value. Research and implement new concepts and innovative products. Forecast price and review market trends. Actively monitor external business environment and be aware of the changes in the inflationary and purchasing environment for categories under management.
