Product Area Specialist – Environmental Sustainability (EEVC)

We are looking for a dedicated Product Area Specialist – Environmental Sustainability to strengthen our efforts in resource efficiency, materials management, and environmental impact reduction across our engineering organization. This role plays a key part in driving sustainability integration throughout product development and ensuring alignment with our long-term sustainability strategy.About the RoleYou will focus on the Resource Use and Environmental Impact areas within our sustainability ambitions, including topics such as life cycle impact, substances of concern, reuse and recyclability, resource efficiency, and material/gaseous emissions.This role combines leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and technical expertise to support our evolution toward more circular, environmentally responsible solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategic AlignmentDrive the sustainability agenda within the department in line with the overarching sustainability strategy and roadmap.Lead or participate in an internal sustainability network.Own the sustainability feature roadmap at the department level.Ensure sustainability topics are embedded in technical roadmaps and align with complete-vehicle strategies.Coordinate internal sustainability initiatives, events, and competence-development activities.Contribute to improved ways of working for sustainability integration.Initiate and prioritize sustainability-related activities and PMRs within the department.Technical & Specialist ResponsibilitiesAnalyze baseline performance and identify environmental hotspots.Break down sustainability requirements into actionable, technical requirements for systems and components.Communicate and clarify requirements for engineering teams.Follow up and report sustainability progress across the department.Support development and deployment of sustainability tools, methods, and roadmaps.Guide engineers in evaluating alternative concepts using sustainability criteria.Who You Are?You are motivated by making a measurable, long-term impact on environmental performance and enjoy working in a cross-functional, technical environment.
