Production Controller – Originals & MicrodramaLocation: On-ground at shoot locationsRole ObjectiveTo ensure that every shoot is executed exactly as per script, brand guidelines, and KukuFM production standards, via on-ground presence, checklist-level monitoring, and tightcoordination between creative, production, and post. This person is the “process cop” onset, not deciding creative, but ensuring whatever is approved on paper is what getsexecuted on camera.Scope & Collaboration:- Directors & Assistant Directors Line Producers / Production Managers Writers / Creative Producers Post-production leads (editor, sound, VFX if any)- Coverage: All Kuku FM shoots assigned, must be physically present on set every shoot day.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Production Break down final script into scenes, shots, locations, and continuity needs.- Translate Kuku’s production & content guidelines into clear, shoot-ready checklists: Language & tone Costume & styling rules Brand/legal/safety guidelines Platform-specific framing/format rules (vertical, duration, etc.)- Align with Creative Producer, Director, AD and Line Producer on script, guidelines and plan. Flag risk areas (complex blocking, stunts, crowd scenes, kids, night shoots, etc.). Ensure all approvals (script lock, budget, locations, cast, props) are documented.On-Set Execution Be first-in, last-out at assigned shoots; physically present on set throughout. Use pre-defined checklists to verify, before each scene/shot: Correct script pages, dialogue and scene intent Costume, hair, makeup as per continuity Props and art setup as per script Framing and format as per Kuku and platform specs- Immediately flag any deviation from script, guidelines or safety to the Creative Producer. Maintain continuity notes: Costume, props, positions, actions Take numbers and “best” takes- Capture on-set photos / short reference videos for continuity and post. Track time usage vs plan; push to keep the unit on schedule. Ensure no unauthorised people in frame and no unsafe setups.Change Control & Documentation- Maintain a simple change log for: Script/dialogue changes Wardrobe/props/location/blocking changes- Ensure changes are quickly aligned and approved by the Creative Producer / Showrunner.- At end of each day, submit a short DailyProduction Report Scenes planned vs completed Deviations and reasons Risks or dependencies for the next dayPost-Production Handover- Share With Post Team Final lined script / shot list (what was actually shot) Continuity notes and best-take markings- List of approved deviations from script/guidelines-Join First Cut Reviews When Required To Check adherence to agreed script and guidelines Flag issues that may need patch shoots or trims Success Metrics (KPIs): High script adherence (maximum scenes/shots matching final script). Low guideline violations (especially those discovered after shoot). Reduction in reshoots caused by process or communication failures. High percentage of planned scenes completed per day. Complete and usable continuity notes and documentation for every shoot.Candidate ProfileExperience:- 3–7 years in TV / OTT / digital video production in roles such as: Assistant Director Production Coordinator / Production Manager Script Supervisor / Continuity- Experience with fast-turnaround, multi-episode content (daily soaps, web series,microdramas) is a strong plus.Skills:- Strong script literacy – can independently read and break down scripts. Extremely detail-oriented; loves checklists, order and process. Confident, firm communicator who can push for discipline on set without ego. Excellent documentation, reporting and follow-up skills. Comfortable with long on-ground days and frequent travel to locations.Culture Fit High ownership, low drama. Calm under pressure; thrives in the chaos of shoots while staying structured.
