Job Description

Mansfield Shire Council is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and community focused individual to take up the role of Project Officer - Waste Infrastructure. This role encompasses the management and enhancement of services related to kerbside waste and recycling collection, landfill waste and recyclable acceptance, and the operation of the resource recovery centre. Additionally, the Project Officer oversees the delivery of waste and environmental programs concerning closed landfills, including risk mitigation planning and cost assessment for their rehabilitation.Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Waste and Environment, the Project Officer’s Waste Infrastructures responsibilities include supporting the Senior Coordinator Waste Management in the delivery of programs and initiatives outlined in the Mansfield Shire Council Waste Management Strategy, represent Council at meetings with waste management agencies and authorities, and assist in preparing the Council’s budget for remediation and related projects.Remuneration will be based on Band 6A classification $89,815.44 per annum plus superannuation according to the Mansfield Shire Council Enterprise Agreement 2024.Applications close at 5.00pm on Monday 1 December 2025.For more information about this role please refer to the position description and the Information for Applicants page of Council's website here.For a confidential discussion regarding the position please contact James Alcaniz Senior Coordinator Waste and Environment on 0436 927 484.
