We inspire.Project Support Officer Arts and CultureThe RoleThe British Council would like to offer students / graduates an experiential learning opportunity to gain real world experience through a national service programme. The practical experience the project support person is expected to complement the theoretical knowledge he/she has gained during their studies. The project support person is expected to both learn from and contribute to the workplace during the service period in turn providing an opportunity to increase employability skills. An outcome being that graduates are more employable and successful because of the skills they acquire.Main Accountabilities But Not Limited To The FollowingUnder the overall guidance of Arts Project Manager, the project support person(s) duties will include:General support with organizing eventsData collection and reporting for events to support British Council corporate Monitoring and Evaluation Frameworks.Updating and managing the contact database for all art contactsAssist in the completion of project reportsProject DeliveryProvides support for project and organise training events across country to a high standard and within deadline. To make arrangements for visitors, team members, including booking travel, accommodation and preparing programmes.Engages in monitoring and evaluation activities as directed by the Project Manager.Financial AdministrationTo provide financial support to the project managers, including raising of purchase orders, getting quotes from suppliers.ProcurementTo ensure supplier and procurement standards are maintained in all transactions and project activity.Marketing And CommunicationsTo ensure that projects are marketed to the highest standards in print (press, publications), digitally (websites, social media, TV, radio) and at trainings (conferences, workshops, meetings).To ensure that project documentation, agenda and correspondence are captured and stored safely on SharePoint.Requirements Of The RoleBsc/HNDEvents management and projects organisationExperience of organising exhibitions related projects and or other art events.Attention to detailInnovative relation creatives both in country and globallyHaving educational backgrounds in the Art, culture, communication and or literature/ related fieldsProficient in English (reading, writing, listening, speaking)DesirableExperience in development of statistics, charts in Excel and Web 2.0 tools.Experience in organising local and/or project support at national eventsExperience working with artists or within the arts spaceExperience in managing mailbox; attending to queries in a professional and timely mannerGraduate within the last 3 years seeking to do his/her national service with the councilClosing Date: Applications will close at 23:59 on 23 November 2025 South Africa Time / 22:59 UK TimeWe request that applications be submitted in EnglishYou must have the legal right to work in the country at the time of application.Mobility / relocation / visa sponsoring support will not be provided.Important InformationDepartment: ArtsContract Duration: Two (2) Years Fixed TermPay band: 2Basic Monthly Salary: GHC 3,839.00Location: Accra, GhanaBritish Council supports working in new ways such as hybrid working, subject to full approval by line management and conditional upon our ability to provide the appropriate level of service.
