Job Description

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for providing cost management expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and procurement to post-contract and final account stages. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies during project inception.Manage and prepare tender documentation, bills of quantities, and contract documents.Conduct cost planning and value engineering to optimize project delivery.Administer contracts, assess variations, and manage claims.Monitor project costs and prepare monthly cost reports.Carry out post-contract duties including interim valuations, cost forecasting, and final accounts.Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure cost certainty.Provide advice on procurement strategies and risk management.Support senior staff in business development and client relationship management.Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and local regulations.Qualifications and ExperienceDegree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering, or related discipline.Membership (or working towards membership) of RICS, AIQS, HKIS, or equivalent professional body.Proven experience in pre- and post-contract quantity surveying, preferably with a consultancy.Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. FIDIC, NEC, JCT, local forms).Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office Suite.Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
