Mental Health Recovery Support Worker, Mental Health ServiceLocationHighfield Healthcare - Swords Road, Whitehall, Dublin 9Reporting RelationshipThe post holder reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager or their nomineeHours of Work7*12 hours shifts - Monday to SundayOverview Of The RoleSupport in their admission period through a progressive recovery focused programme, so that they are provided with the opportunity to successfully discharge from the Acute service in line with their discharge plan.Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesAs directed by Clinical Nurse Manager / RSW Team Lead standard duties and responsibilities include:Promote and encourage patient to be in the driver's seat on their own recovery journey.Support the patient to manage their own space, self-care and promote good living skills, through modelling and workshops with the goal of encouraging independence.Promote self-education, nurture hope and foster a holistic wellness approach to the patient's health.Promote and support the patient to direct their own recovery based on the recovery principles of "hope", "control" and "opportunity".Promote and support the patient to identify their strengths, personal interests and goals.Work with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver support to patients accessing the service.Facilitate the patient to identify solutions, set goals, plan and move through and beyond the service.Work together in a solution-focused way with the patient and their carers or named person, encouraging and motivating individuals to take an active role in their own recovery including goal planning, in line with agreed care plans.Provide patients with appropriate support and guidance in the management of their mental health; monitoring progress and providing feedback to the multi-disciplinary team.Promote and support independent living for patients, involvement in their local community and connections with family, friends and significant others.Help prepare and accompany the patient to appointments, therapeutic or social community-based activities as appropriate.Assist the patient to understand their rights and choices within the service and the supports available to access these.Have a good working knowledge of the Mental Health Commission standards and judgement support framework as they apply to the role.Observe & supervise those patients who may benefit from high levels of support and guidance.Participate in the Admission, Transfer & Discharge of programme participants.To liaise and co-operate with the Clinical Nurse Manager regarding ongoing developments and changes in the treatment, training and management of patients in accordance with our policies.Assisting patients to maintain their own personal living space, personal belongings and hygiene levels where appropriate and incorporated into the care/training programme.Maintaining a safe, therapeutic, non-threatening and clean environment for patients, carers and trainees within the Service.To assist as required in the development, implementation and operation of Highfield Healthcare's computerised Mental Health Information System.The Recovery Support Worker is expected to be completely flexible in this position and be prepared in the light of experience and changing circumstances, to take on other duties, appropriate to the post, as may be determined by the CNM, ADoN or designated nominee.The above Job Specification is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all duties involved and consequently, the post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to him/her from time to time and to contribute to the development of the post while in office.Eligibility CriteriaQualifications And/ Or ExperienceMust hold a QQI Level 8 qualification in social care, or in a relevant area healthcare discipline andHave experience as a Recovery/Mental Health Support WorkerAll posts are subject to satisfactory references, medical and Garda vetting.To be considered for this role you will be redirected to and must complete the application process on our careers page.
