This role can be accounted as an official internship.PurposeJoin us in our mission to create a global network of media labs dedicated to equipping asylum seekers and recognised refugees with modern media creation skills. We believe in empowering and amplifying their voices to foster understanding and create positive change in society.This internship is an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and gain valuable experience in the nonprofit sector as well as in in depth understanding of issues related to people on the move. Although it is an unpaid position, we offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate both your availability and our organisation's needs.ResponsibilitiesMapping opportunities for institutional and corporate partnerships, including those with research institutions (universities, think tanks, labs).Conduct research: Assist in identifying potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities aligned with our organisation's mission and objectives.Developing a strategic plan for engaging businesses (CSR programmes, sponsorships, cause marketing) and research institutions (joint projects, grants, collaborative studies) to support ReFOCUS’s mission.Preparing proposals, concept notes, and grant applications targeted at both philanthropic funders and institutional partners.Help maintain relationships with existing donors through personalised and timely communications, expressing gratitude and providing updates on our projects and achievements.Fundraising analytics: Help track and analyse fundraising data, preparing reports and insights to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.Events organising: Support the fundraising and marketing team in organising fundraising events in different locations and on-line.Database management: Maintain an organised database of donors, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for effective donor management and cultivation.Networking: Utilise LinkedIn to expand our network of potential donors and supporters. Reach out to professionals, organisations, and influencers who share an interest in our cause. Engage in meaningful conversations, share updates, and cultivate relationships that may lead to partnerships or financial support.Skills & ExperiencePassion for our cause: A genuine interest in supporting our students and creators, and a strong belief in the power of education to create positive change in society.Excellent communication skills: Clear and concise written and verbal communication abilities, with the capability to convey our mission and impact effectively.Writing skills: Experience in grant or project proposal writing.Research skills: Strong research and analytical skills to identify potential donors and funding opportunities.Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in grant proposals, donor communications, and data management.Organisational skills: Effective organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Good self-management skills while working remotely or under small supervision.Team player: Willingness to collaborate with the fundraising team and other colleagues, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.LanguageThe working language of ReFOCUS is English.
