Position OverviewThe Regional Sales Manager (RSM) – Mid-Atlantic is responsible for driving profitable sales growth across the Merit Brass portfolio within Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. This individual will develop and strengthen relationships with wholesale distribution partners, contractors, engineers, and key market influencers. The RSM will represent the full line of Merit Brass products—including fittings, nipples, pipe, valves, and press systems—while supporting new product introductions and specification work where applicable.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with Merit Brass’s national objectivesManage and grow relationships with wholesale distributors, ensuring Merit Brass maintains a preferred vendor positionIdentify new business opportunities within existing accounts and through contractor and engineering specification influencePromote and support all Merit Brass product categories, including legacy core offerings and newly launched productsCollaborate closely with Product Line Management, Customer Experience, and Strategic Accounts teams to ensure alignment on pricing, service, and inventory strategiesCapture all market intelligence, customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline updates within Microsoft Dynamics CRMParticipate in joint sales calls and trade shows events to build awareness and strengthen market presenceProvide feedback on market conditions, competitor activity, and pricing trends to support strategic decision-makingSupport and lead product training sessions for distributor sales teams, contractor customers, and engineersDeliver consistent reporting on sales performance, growth initiatives, and customer engagementQualificationsBachelor’s degree or related field experience preferredMinimum of 5+ years of sales experience in the PVF (Pipe, Valve & Fitting), plumbing, or related industrial distribution marketsProven track record of building and growing regional sales territoriesStrong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsExperience working with wholesale distributors and manufacturer representativesProficiency in CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and Microsoft Office SuiteSelf-motivated and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independentlyMust reside within the assigned geography and be willing to travel up to 50% of the timePerformance MetricsSales growth and margin performance within the assigned regionMarket share expansion and new account developmentCRM engagement and opportunity management complianceSuccessful execution of strategic initiatives and new product adoptionWhy Merit BrassMerit Brass is an industry leader in manufacturing and distribution of pipe, valves, fittings, and related products.
