Job Description

Job overview:Manage the Schar brand growth initiatives in the Western region, aligning with the company’s strategic direction and financial objectives to drive market leadership and long-term growth of the brand. Responsible for promoting food safety and quality and reporting any deviations to key authority personnel. 50% travel requirement. Responsiblities: Sales and MarketingGrow Schar brand sales and distribution in the Western region by building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, distributors, and key retail accounts.Collaborate with brokers and distributor account managers to execute sales strategies and achieve regional volume and distribution goals.Implement, monitor, and measure promotional strategies and spending with retailers, distributors, and brokers as designated.Develop impactful sales presentations and related materials in collaboration with Marketing, and present to distributors, brokers, and retailers.Support the development of planograms for distributors and retailers based on internal sales or syndicated data (e.g., SPINS).Coordinate retail activities with the “Professionals” group for designated accounts.Attend trade shows, distributor shows, and retailer functions to promote the Schär brand and strengthen relationships.Monitor distribution, retail pricing, and competitive activity, and provide timely reports and insights to management.Support the annual Business Plan development process.Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs; the employee is expected to remain agile and perform other duties as assigned by management to support the success of the organization.Category ManagementPartner with brokers, distributors, and retail accounts to implement Category Management best practices in the Western region.Utilize syndicated and internal data to analyze category performance, recommend SKU optimization, and identify emerging trends.Work with Sales Leadership and Marketing to develop and update planograms and product placement strategies.Financial and AdministrationMaintain fiscal and budgetary accountability for designated retail customers, including deductions, terms, slotting, and trade spending.Support the Sales team in the annual budget planning process.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA a plus.5–8 years of experience in CPG sales strategy, planning, or sales operations.Strong business acumen and deep understanding of retail dynamics.Expertise in Excel and analytical tools; experience with data platforms like Nielsen, IRI, or SPINS.Exceptional communication skills, with ability to influence cross-functional teams.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.Prior experience supporting a national salesforce or category/commercial team preferred.Willingness to travel as needed (approx. 50%).ConfidentialityThe job holder is only allowed to share information with authorized persons: data and information specific to the department such as: business figures and –goals, salary information, statistics and analyses, pricing, customers and supplier information, terms etc.Voluntary Self Identification:Please copy and paste this link in your browser and complete as part of your application: https://s.surveyplanet.com/vljskoazDr. Schar USA participates in E-Verify to confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees.
