Department: Business BankingReports To: Relationship Manager Islamic BankingJob Grade: OG-IIITotal Positions: 01Location: Karachi Saddar Islamic Branch What is a Relationship Officer Islamic Banking - MMBL?The Relationship Officer – Islamic Banking is responsible for driving business growth through product marketing, sales, client servicing, financing booking, and document processing in full accordance with Shariah-compliant principles. The role ensures prompt delivery and repayment of financings, maintains portfolio quality, and upholds high service standards in line with regulatory frameworks on Fair Treatment of Customers and Shariah compliance.What a Relationship Officer Islamic Banking - MMBL Does?Business Growth:Implement approved sales and service plans to achieve business growth objectives by coordinating with Branch Managers/Regional Managers.Achieve sales targets through quality financing generation while ensuring adherence to Shariah-compliant practices.Develop and maintain strong customer relationships following MMBL’s SOPs, ethical standards, and moral business practices.Cross-Selling:Execute assigned sales and service plans using effective cross-selling techniques to meet branch and individual business targets.Portfolio Management:Proactively implement bank collection and default management strategies aligned with Shariah principles.Ensure adherence to bank policies for recovery and collection in current, NPL, and charged-off categories.Ensure recoveries and deposits are made through authorized cash counters as per bank guidelines.Compliance:Conduct financing booking and processing strictly in accordance with bank policies, procedures, and Shariah standards.Perform due diligence and physical verification of prospective clients to ensure accuracy and compliance.Handle customer legal documents with utmost care to prevent misuse.Instruct customers to make repayments directly at bank counters only.Avoid direct cash handling while performing Relationship Officer functions; ensure strict adherence to collection manuals and Shariah guidelines when handling field collections.Service Quality:Meet internal service standards, ensuring no customer complaints through adherence to the Fair Treatment of Customers policy.Build and sustain long-term, trust-based relationships with clients aligned with Islamic banking principles.Other Responsibilities:Perform any additional tasks assigned by the bank in line with business objectives.What We Are Looking For and What It Requires to Be a Relationship Officer Islamic Banking at MMBL?Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution; a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Islamic Finance, Management Sciences, Commerce, Accounting & Finance, Economics, or Agriculture will be preferred.Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience, preferably in Islamic banking.Essential Skills:Strong customer service orientation.Excellent convincing, selling, and negotiation skills.Proficiency in MS Office applications.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in collection and portfolio management.Fluency in the local language.Ability to work effectively under pressure.Desirable Skills:Skilled in business planning, retail banking, and customer relationship management within Islamic banking.Thorough understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for Islamic banks, including Shariah Board approvals and SBP Islamic banking regulations.Certification in Islamic Banking will be considered an added advantage.About MMBL:Mobilink Microfinance Bank Ltd. is providing banking services to over 48 million registered users including 20+ million monthly active customers across Pakistan.
