This role focuses on managing social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, and community development to ensure socially sustainable project outcomes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in social studies within the power and energy sectors and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.Assist in conducting social impact assessments for the project.Support stakeholder engagement activities and maintain communication records.Help implement community development initiatives under supervision.Monitor and report on social challenges or concerns arising during the project.Ensure compliance with social standards and guidelines as directed by senior team members.Prepare basic reports and assist in documenting social performance and activities.With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.Suitable applicants will have/be:Tertiary qualifications or a related discipline (e.g. Bachelors or master’s degree in Sociology, Social Sciences)5 to 7 years of relevant experience in social impact assessment and stakeholder engagement, preferably in infrastructure or energy projects.Good understanding of social standards and guidelines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.SMEC is an equal opportunity employer.
