Position Overview:We are seeking an inquisitive, motivated, and detail-oriented Research Analyst to support our work on policy and socio-economic research initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to projects spanning public policy, economy, and sustainability, working collaboratively within the research department to produce evidence-based and actionable insights.This role is ideal for someone early in their research career who enjoys exploring diverse topics, synthesizing complex information, and contributing to practical, impact-driven policy discussions.Key Responsibilities:Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative research, literature reviews, and desk-based analysis across a range of policy and economic themes.Support the design of research frameworks, data collection tools, and analytical approaches.Draft research papers, reports, and policy briefs that translate findings into clear and accessible outputs.Collect, analyse, and interpret primary and secondary research data.Contribute to stakeholder engagement activities, such as expert consultations and workshops.Collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives.Collaborate closely with senior researchers and project leads to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables.Perform advocacy duties based on research deliverables.Write articles on relevant topics for both organizational and public interest. Qualifications & Skills:1–3 years of relevant research experience in social science, public policy, economics, sustainability, or related fields; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in social science, public policy, economics, development studies, or a related discipline.Strong skills in qualitative and/or quantitative analysis and synthesis of information from diverse sources.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research clearly and concisely.Strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a small research team and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Comfortable working both independently and in team settings.Interest in socio-economic development, sustainability, equity, and digital policy issues in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.Experience engaging with stakeholders such as government agencies, NGOs, or media is an added advantage.Location: Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, Hybrid Mode.Send your resume and cover letter to hello@seri.my
