Job Description

JOB PURPOSETo provide rapid logistical and mobility support across the Cargo Examination (CE) area by transporting staff, equipment, and materials as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The Runner acts as the primary driver for short-distance transport within CE zones, responding to system-generated work orders and supervisor instructions to support inspection, clearance, and operational continuity.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESTransport laborers, forklift (FL) operators, clerks, and other assigned personnel between work positions or examination points based on operational needs.Respond promptly to work instructions and transport requests received through the operational system or direct orders from the Shift Supervisor.Ensure timely and efficient execution of movements to minimize operational downtime and delays in cargo inspection activities.Assist in repositioning equipment, trolleys, pallets, or small tools within the CE area as directed.Support emergency or urgent transport requirements, including manpower or material movements, during peak hours or special operations.Operate assigned vehicle in strict adherence to company safety policies, site-specific traffic regulations, and cargo area movement restrictions.Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle’s roadworthiness and report any issues immediately.Follow safety procedures when entering and operating in high-risk or restricted cargo areas.Ensure all transported personnel comply with PPE and site safety rules.Report any safety hazards, near-miss incidents, or operational irregularities to the Shift Supervisor.Maintain constant communication with the Shift Supervisor and other team members via radio or approved communication systems.Log and confirm completion of each movement or task through the operational system.Support operational planning by informing the supervisor of workload, timing, and transport constraints.Provide updates on traffic conditions or obstructions within the CE area that could affect workflow.Cooperate with other CE teams and departments to ensure seamless coordination of movement schedules.Keep the assigned vehicle clean, organized, and ready for immediate use at all times.Ensure fuel levels and maintenance schedules are followed in coordination with the Fleet or Transport Maintenance Unit.Report damages, malfunctions, or irregularities in vehicle operation promptly for corrective action.Support in moving light materials, documents, or inspection tools as part of operational housekeeping.Assist the CE section with general operational or administrative tasks during idle times, as directed.Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and operational meetings when required.Uphold the company’s values, integrity, and standards always.Operate the assigned shuttle/bus according to the daily plan in the Exam AppPick up and drop off employees as per scheduled routes or ad-hoc requestsTransport examination tools (e.g., tape, cutter, seal cutter, hammer)Update employee attendance (Present / Not Present) in real-time via the appMaintain communication with the shift supervisor via radio or phone safely.Follow all terminal driving rules and safety instructionsReport any operational, technical, or safety issues directly to the supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:High school diploma or equivalent.Valid driver’s license is appropriate for the assigned vehicle type.Minimum of [1–3] years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or cargo operations (preferred).Knowledge of safety and operational procedures within cargo or port environments.Ability to follow system-generated instructions and communicate effectively.Good understanding of CE section layout and operational flow (preferred).Basic communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
