Our Sales Development team is at the heart of that - connecting with data and engineering leaders who want to unlock the power of streaming data.Role OverviewThe Sales Development Representative (SDR) is the first point of contact in Ververica's growth journey. You will drive meaningful engagement with prospects through thoughtful, human, and research-driven outreach. You will identify, engage, and qualify potential customers while embodying Ververica's values of curiosity, creativity, and community.This is not a traditional SDR role. We're building a modern, trusted brand and believe sales should reflect that. Blending social presence, storytelling, and value-led conversations to open doors and build relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesProspect Engagement and Pipeline CreationIdentify and engage target accounts across key industries using personalized, insight-driven outreachInitiate authentic conversations with data and engineering leaders or similar (e.g., Heads of Data Platform, Data Engineers, Architects)Qualify inbound and outbound leads to ensure strong alignment between customer needs and Ververica's solutionsLeverage signals (intent data, event activity, social engagement) to time and tailor outreach for maximum relevanceCreative and Community-Led OutreachUse platforms like LinkedIn or Reddit, industry events, and community spaces to build a strong network and personal brand. Create lead-generating contentDevelop thoughtful messaging that reflects understanding of customer challenges and industry trendsTo stand out authentically, experiment with new outreach formats like video messages, voice notes, micro-content, and community posts.Collaboration and EnablementWork closely with Marketing to execute coordinated campaigns and event follow-upsPartner with Account Executives to hand off qualified meetings smoothly and strategicallyShare feedback and insights from the field to help shape messaging, campaigns, and market positioning.Continuous Learning and GrowthStay curious about data streaming, Apache Flink, and real-time architectures to speak credibly with technical personasEmbrace experimentation and data to improve outreach quality and conversion ratesBuild your personal brand and thought leadership presence alongside Ververica'sRequirements1-3 years of experience in sales or business development, ideally within B2B tech or dataExcellent written and verbal communication.
