Job Description

We’re seeking a technically strong IoT / Embedded Systems Engineer or Engineering Partner to help us build and integrate a field-ready control box powered by Raspberry Pi, LTE connectivity, and smart relays.Key Responsibilities: 1. Hardware Integration • Configure a Raspberry Pi 4 (or equivalent) with: • LTE/4G communication module • RS-485 (Modbus) HAT • 16-channel relay board • ADC module for analog sensors • Connect voltage, current, temperature, and irradiance sensors to the system. • Interface with PV string and inverter controls. 2. Software & Communication • Develop Python or Node-RED scripts for: • Sensor reading (RS-485 / I²C) • Relay control via GPIO • Fault detection logic (over-voltage, over-current, over-temp, etc.) • Send data to SolarOn SA’s Cloud Dashboard (Lovable / MQTT / HTTP API). • Receive remote commands (e.g., turn string OFF / reset inverter). 3. Control Box Design • Assist in designing a DIN-rail mounted enclosure with: • Power supply (5V/3A) • Wiring harness for field sensors and relays • LTE antenna and terminal blocks • Provide wiring diagrams, PCB layout (if required), and safety isolation planning. 4. Testing & Validation • Bench-test full system (sensors + relays + cloud integration). • Optimize for low data use, high uptime, and industrial reliability. • Prepare prototype for mass production (collaboration with a panel builder).
