Our dedicated international team of dynamic scientists works across multiple disciplines to drive innovations that will revolutionize the future of the leather industry.Position Overview: We are looking for a passionate and driven Scientist to join our Tissue Engineering team in Maastricht. You will join a multidisciplinary team developing and optimizing scalable, cost-effective tissue engineering strategies for cultured leather production.This role offers the opportunity to:Design, perform, and analyze experiments on biomaterial surface modification and characterization. Develop and optimize surface properties through chemical, physical, or biological modification, including but not limited to hydrophilic and/or hydrophobic characteristics, to enhance material performance and functionality.Support the search for biocompatible and scalable scaffolds for tissue formation.Conduct materials surface and mechanical characterization using techniques such as SEM, AFM, XPS, FTIR, Raman, and contact angle analysis.Interpret and present results to inform product development and research directions.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to achieve shared project goals.Maintain clear experimental documentation and contribute to internal reports and knowledge sharing while mentoring junior team members.Actively support a collaborative and positive team culture, contributing to a productive, innovation-driven environment.Other Responsibilities:Maintain lab sterility, safety, and operational excellence.Oversee equipment, develop and update SOPs.Stay current with advances in tissue engineering and cellular agriculture.You will receive structured onboarding and training to build the skills needed for success and long-term development.Who You Are: You are a curious and motivated scientist who enjoys solving problems in the lab and working hands-on.
