Senior Accountant

On behalf of a corporate tax and advisory specialist, a fantastic new position is now live and accepting applications for a Senior Accountant based in Nicosia.Permanent position€30,000 - €36,000 + benefits and bonus.Hybrid working - Four days on-site, one day working from homeKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.Lead the management accounting process, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting.Oversee general ledger postings, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.Strong understanding and direct experience with VAT + VAT Calculations Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.Collaborate with auditors during annual audits and provide all necessary documentation.Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.Qualifications & ExperiencePart or Fully qualified ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an accounting position already.Direct experience within client accounting is a plus. Strong knowledge of IFRS, Cyprus tax laws, and regulatory requirements.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills.Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication skills in English; Greek language proficiency will be considered an advantage.
