Who We AreLittle Warriors is a national, charitable organization based in Alberta, dedicated to the awareness, prevention, and treatment of child sexual abuse. We also advocate for — and alongside — survivors of child sexual abuse.The Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch by Ray LaBonte and Family is a specialized, intensive, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment centre designed to help children who have experienced sexual abuse, as well as their families. The Be Brave Ranch offers a comprehensive one-year program that combines onsite and outpatient components, developed in collaboration with leading academic and clinical experts in child sexual abuse and trauma care.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Part-Time Senior Accountant (approximately 3 days / 24 hours per week in the office) to lead our accounting team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and values meaningful, purpose-driven work.The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and proactive professional who excels at developing efficient systems, processes, and reporting frameworks. They will play a key leadership role in supporting Little Warriors’ existing operations This role is best suited for an adaptable and innovative individual who takes initiative, works collaboratively, and is inspired by Little Warriors’ mission to help children and families heal.Responsibilities1.) FinancialImplement financial proceduresEstablish and maintain cash controlsEstablish, maintain and reconcile the general ledgerMaintain supplier accounts along with Maintenance Lead and/or othersMaintain purchase order processEnsure all financial data is entered into the systemEnsure security for all credit cards and verify chargesEnsure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized systemEnsure government remittances are made accurately and within deadlinesPrepare income statementsPrepare and report on balance sheets and monthly financial statementsPrepare and send monthly financials to CEO and external accountantPrepare quarterly reports and report on variancesAssist with annual review by external accountantWork with Fund Development Team/Director of Philanthropy and CEO to ensure proper financial processes in place re: receiving and financially acknowledging all donationsPrepare (along with CEO) annual budget draft and work with Board assigned Financial Committee2.) Accounts Payable/Account ReceivableWork with Accounting Team to issue payments (cheque/credit card) for all accounts dueAccounts receivable calls/emails to follow up on paymentEnsure all payables and receivables are reconciled in a timely manner3.) Human ResourcesWork with HR Lead and Accounting Team re: training and preparing training schedules for new employeesPreparing employment offers and termination documentsPerformance management of Accounting Team (Senior Payroll and Accounts Receivable/Payable)Ensure new employees are properly supervised and documented4.) PayrollWork in collaboration with Senior Payroll to prepare payroll in payroll systemReview payroll reportsWork in collaboration with Senior Payroll to ensure vacation and time in lieu is processed appropriately5.) ManagementRespond to customer enquiriesEnsure subscriptions and memberships are kept up to dateKeep up to date on software and technologies for the business. Setup and train as required.Stay current with company corporate changes and distribute information to relevant partiesConstant development with coaching and training of teamParticipate actively and provide feedback in Leadership meetings6.) Perform other related duties as required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA, or CPA) strongly preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a complex or multi-entity organization.Proven knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial management.Demonstrated experience in building and optimizing financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks.Proficiency in accounting and financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, MS Office, SAP, or equivalent).Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate actionable insights.Excellent organizational, project management, and leadership skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the mission and values of Little Warriors. CompensationA competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate, commensurate with experience and qualifications.This role is in person at the Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch which is East of Sherwood Park.Please submit your resume and cover letter to HR@littlewarriors.ca
