It’s better on the edge.THE ROLEWe are seeking a full time Senior Accountant to join our Finance team based at our Newstead HQ. The Senior Accountant owns the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of VRG GRL’s financial records across all entities (Australia, USA, and future subsidiaries). This role is hands-on and execution-focused responsible for all accounting processes, reconciliations, month-end close, payroll, tax compliance support, and financial controls.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead the full month-end close for AU & US entities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.Deliver accurate reconciled financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).Own all balance sheet and clearing account reconciliations, including bank, credit cards, e-commerce settlements, inventory, gift cards, payroll, and inter-company accounts.Ensuring accuracy and proper classification across all ledgers, identifying and resolving any errors, discrepancies or unusual transactions.Oversee and review the work of our bookkeeper, providing direction, guidance and quality control.Oversee the processing of end-to-end payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with awards, entitlements, and statutory requirementsManage revenue and inventory accounting, including reconciling Shopify/PayPal/Afterpay/Stripe, landed cost accuracy, and stock adjustments.Investigate and resolve settlement discrepancies or missing fundsWork with Merch & Operations to reconcile stock movements, adjustments, shrinkage, and write-offsSupport tax compliance across AU, NZ, UK and US (BAS, GST, sales tax reporting, and data for external advisors).Monitor cash flow, vendor management, payables/receivables timing, and financial controls.Drive process improvement, automation and documentation across Xero, spreadsheets, and operational workflows.Coordinate clean accounting across multiple entities, ensuring accurate inter-company reconciliation and supporting external reporting.Liaise with US CPA, AU tax agent, Customs Brokers and external advisors as neededMaintain accurate landed cost and inventory accounting across AU & US entitiesEnsure COGS accuracy and alignment with inventory systemsABOUT YOU5–8+ years accounting experience (retail, e-commerce, FMCG, or multi-entity ideal)Strong technical accounting skills (AU standards; US experience an advantage)Experience with multi-currency, inter-company, and inventory accountingProficiency with Xero, Shopify, and advanced Excel/Google SheetsExtremely detail-oriented, accurate, and process-drivenComfortable working autonomously and owning deadlines end-to-endCPA/CA preferred but not essential if experience is strongComfortable working in a fast-paced, founder-led, growth-driven environmentABOUT USA growing global fashion retailer started in Brisbane, Australia.A female founded business, with over 80% female leadership.We have donated a percentage of our profits to charity annually, since inception.A 4-day work week in our Newstead Head Office.
